Leica Stellaris Platform training

The Estación Experimental del Zaidín (EEZ-CSIC) is pleased to announce a new hands-on training course on advanced confocal microscopy, following its recent designation as a Leica Microsystems Reference Centre and the installation of the new Leica STELLARIS Confocal Platform.

The training will take place at the EEZ-CSIC and is designed to provide participants with a practical and comprehensive introduction to modern confocal microscopy, from sample preparation and image acquisition to quantitative image analysis.

The programme will combine theoretical sessions with hands-on demonstrations and practical work using the STELLARIS platform. Topics will include the fundamentals of confocal imaging, optimisation of acquisition parameters, multicolour fluorescence imaging, spectral detection, FLIM, strategies to improve spatial resolution and signal-to-noise ratio, and good practices for generating reproducible and quantitative microscopy data, among others.

Special attention will be given to experimental design and to the complete imaging workflow:

sample preparation → image acquisition → image processing → segmentation → quantitative analysis → data interpretation.

Applications from different biological systems will be considered, including plant, animal and microbial samples, making the course particularly suitable for researchers interested in applying advanced fluorescence microscopy to a broad range of biological questions.

This training also aims to strengthen interaction among industrial and scientific community, REMOA laboratories, EEZ-CSIC and Leica Microsystems, promoting access to advanced microscopy technologies and the exchange of expertise within the imaging community.
