Description

A 3D imaging technique using detector array and structured illumination to yield super resolution imaging with almost 2x resolution increase and higher sensibility over classical laser scanning confocal microscopy.

Implemented in 1) laser scanning confocal microscopes where point detectors are replaced with array detector (e.g. Airyscan, re-scan microscopes, etc..) or 2) spinning disk based system where hardware- or software-based image re-scaling is achieved to increase resolution (e.g. iSIM, SoRa, etc...).

All implementations use pixel re-assignment, and optionally image deconvolution.
