Description
Critical angle incidence of a laser beam onto the inner surface of a coverglass creates an evanescent field which illuminates the field of view with a typical depth of 100 to 200nm. Technique dedicated to probes sitting at the glass surface, and performing only at high NA, typically beyond 1.45.
