Equipment description

The Leica AF6000 LX is an integrated system for advanced widefield fluorescence imaging and analysis. The highly integrated workstation enables researchers to image live cells under near-native conditions, allowing them to gain a better understanding of cellular processes and dynamics. It woks with LAS X software.

The system is equipped with a Leica DFC 9000 GT camera: sCMOS sensor with high quantum efficiency over the entire spectrum of light, which provides a high signal-to-noise ratio to securely detect even faint signals. In combination with a very low noise level, this results in a crisp fluorescence signal against a dark background – an effect very much desired in high-end fluorescence live cell imaging. Sensor size 13.3 x 13.3 mm with a 6.5 μm x 6.5 μm pixel size (2048 x 2048; 4.2 MP). This camera is fast, has a good sensitivity and allows high resolution due to the small pixel size.

Filters available on the system are: A4 (UV-filter), BGR (blue-green-red triple filter), L5 (FITC,GFP) and N3 (Rodamin).

Objectives are the following: 5x (dry), 10x (dry), 20x (dry), 40x (dry), 63x (glycerine immersion, corrected to work at 37°C) and 100x (oil immersion).

The microscope stand sits in a thermo-box where the temperature can be regulated from 22°C to 37°C. Humidification and CO2 are equally available.

On the other hand, the system is equipped with a Gilson's MINIPULS ®3 peristaltic pump with 4 channels.
